Arab Certified IP Licensing Practitioner Program (ACIPLP)

The Certified ACIPLP professional program was launched on April 2007 to provide the Arab world with professional executives in the field of licensing, technology transfer, and intellectual asset management. The program was designed to give participants a solid foundation for building a successful career in the profession of licensing and intellectual asset management, as well as connecting principles to practice.

 The program is now offered in Egypt through the GAPP Executive Education.

 Who Should Attend

 The program is intended for:

     - Non-licensing professionals about to enter the field

     - Those who are considering a career in licensing

     - Entrepreneurs who need to understand the value of their IP

     - Financial and business development consultants

     -  Intellectual Asset managers and professionals

     - Patent attorneys

     - Portfolio managers, CEOs, and general managers

     - Those dealing with Franchising, Licensing, and business development

     - Technology transfer executives

     - Those interested in learning the basics of Intellectual Property (IP) and how to commercialize IP  through licensing

     - Academia

A group of 20 qualified participants will be selected.

 Program Structure and Duration 

Sessions will be taught in Arabic.

 ACIPLP consists of three levels with a total of 76 training hours:

 Level One: Commercializing Technology through the Power of IP Licensing (8 hours – 1 day)

 June 3, 2012

     - Intellectual Property (IP) Basics

     - Basics of IP commercialization /licensing

     - Determining reasonable license fees & royalty rates

     - Managing licensing risks


Level Two: Essential Principles and Tools of Licensing (32 hours – 4 days) 

June 4- 7, 2012

     - The Basics of Intellectual Property (IP) and Licensing

     - IP/Intellectual Assets (IA) Business Strategy

     - The Deal-Valuation and Negotiation

     - Living with the Deal

Level Three: Advanced Licensing Strategies and Skills (36 hours – 4 days)

 January 2013

     - Patenting, Due Diligence, and Licensing

     - IA Strategy

     - Valuation

     - Negotiation and Ethics

Trainers

 Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) Certified Professional Trainers

     - Ms. Hams Madanat, Director of Quality Assurance in Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), Jordan.

     - Dr. Rasha Hinnawi Rasha Hinnawi is a freelance trainer and business consultant, Jordan.

Exams and Certificates

 Participants will sit for two certification exams to obtain the “Arab Certified IP Licensing Practitioner (ACIPLP)" certificate; one after the competition of the second level and another after the third level.

 Venue

 The program will be conducted at GAPP Executive Education's training rooms at the new campus of the American University in Cairo. This 260-acre world class facility offers the perfect learning environment for GAPP Executive Education programs.

 Fees

     - Level 1: Free

     - Level 2: USD 1,000*
