LES - AC holds a workshop on "Dispute Resolution in Domain Names”

Amman - Licensing Executives Society - Arab Countries (LES-AC) held a workshop entitled “Dispute Resolution in Domain Names ", in cooperation with the Arab Society for Intellectual Property and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP).
The workshop was held in conjunction the global celebration of the Intellectual Property Day and of creation and innovation. The purpose of this workshop is to work towards a better future for the next generations, and to clarify the dispute resolution mechanism in domain names. 
As a representative of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), Mr. Charles Shaban inaugurated the workshop, he said that Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property has made a great effort to be the first in the world, as it chose to be digital and work through keeping pace with development and technology, pointing out that the world is in an accelerated and continuous development and we must keep pace with this acceleration.
Shaban, the Executive Director of TAG-IP, reviewed the services provided by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) specifically the domain names department.
On her side, Ms. Lana Habash, Eversheds partner, reviewed the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), its elements, the arbitral award mechanism, and the administrative procedures in which domain name issues go through.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the Society for organizing the workshop which; as participants put it, has benefited them a lot in the fields of their work.
