LES Annual Meeting 2017

Date: October 22-25, 2017

Location: Chicago, IL – Marriot Downtown Magnificent Mile

We are entering an era where business practices of the past won’t meet the needs of the future. Most of the world’s major innovators are in the midst of the same transformational journey – needing to develop, acquire and protect the latest technologies to meet customer demands and stay ahead of the competition. As licensing professionals, we need to join them on this journey, navigating through the ever-changing environment to develop a commercialization or other intellectual property strategy that can adapt along the way and deliver results.

The 2017 Annual Meeting will focus on:

  • What does the deal of the future look like?
  • What does the licensing professional of the future look like?
  • How major innovators are doing things differently to get the job done?
  • Are there changes we need to defend against rather than harness?
  • Many businesses are global - How are changes outside of the USA impacting us?
  • Creative ways of financing to advance product development.
  • Intellectual property is more than just patents – how do we transact smarter when it comes to IP such as trademarks, know-how, software …..
  • CLA – Collaborating, Learning, Adapting

Meeting content will be CLE eligible with attendees gaining up to 13.5 CLE credits, including Ethics credits.*

LES itself is experiencing change. We are adapting to ensure we provide IP professionals with the resources they need to succeed in a changing environment including issues related to business practices, political, legislative and judicial uncertainty. The 2017 Annual Meeting will showcase the first of these transformations. Join us for three days of networking, business development, education and much more.

Evening Events:

Take Me Out To The Ball Game – join attendees for a sport themed opening reception. This leads us neatly into the initial sessions of the meeting which will examine the value of brand licensing today.

Gala Dinner – The evening will kick-off with a Licensing in Blues Alley cocktail hour following by a dinner that recreates the atmosphere and opulence of Chicago in the 1920s. Flapper dresses and gangster suits optional!

The Art of The Deal – a great networking and fun filled evening. The event will be set up to allow networking with attendees from your sector, you can also try your luck at our LES gaming tables.
