LES Foundation Announces Business Plan Competition Finalists

Six teams of entrepreneurs from Canada, Columbia, Uganda and the United States have advanced to the final round of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Foundation’s 2015-2016 International Business Plan Competition. They will compete for the Grand Prize, the Global Prize, Best Student Team and the LES Members’ Choice Award. The final round will be held on April 25 and the winner will be announced during the upcoming LES Spring Meeting, April 26-28 in Houston, TX.

The competition, now in its 12th year, is designed to partner young professionals and students with senior leaders in the licensing and Intellectual Property (IP) community as a way to provide mentorship and education about business basics and best practices in IP and licensing transactions. In order to compete, plans submitted to the competition must include a core intellectual property component and strategies describing how the intellectual property will be used to achieve overall business plan objectives. Throughout the competition, participating teams can discover concepts that could take many years of experience to learn by working closely with seasoned professionals who provide unmatched mentorship.
