Technology Commercialization Tour Launched for the 2nd Year

 

The Tour encourages creativity and produces opportunities for entrepreneurs from six Arab countries and investors to meet and manufacture projects in a mechanism to spread knowledge

 AMMAN------June 20, 2013----- Building on the success of its first round, the organizers of the 2nd TechnologyCommercialization Tour: the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Technology Center, Licensing Executives Society – Arab Countries and iPARK announced the launch of the 2013 Tour starting June till August 2013.

 

The Tour encourages creativity and produces opportunities for entrepreneurs from six Arab countries and investors to meet and manufacture projects in a mechanism to spread knowledge.

 

This year witnesses a new organizer MENA APPS as a sponsoring entity for entrepreneurs.

 

The 2013 Tour will be held in Egypt, Kuwait, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and the UAE at the end of October, details will be announced during a press conference to be held in Cairo in July 2013.

 

Interested people are encouraged to login to www.comm-tour.comand register according to the following criteria:

The innovator must be above the age of 18 years old The venture must be technology based with mature prototype/product The venture must demonstrate a strong and clear business model and financial projections. The project owner must be a resident of Egypt, Kuwait, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates The company must be registered in the home country. The capital required for the proposed project is between (50,000 - 5,000,000) US Dollars

The first Tour was launched in June 2012 and targeted entrepreneurs from five Arab countries Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Palestine. It aims to facilitate the matching between investors from the region and the innovative projects seeking licensing, partnership, financing, or commercialization. The Tour succeeded in connecting 10 innovators with investors in which one project from Lebanon was able to secure $250000 funding.
