Technicolor and Sony Form Joint Patent Licensing Program
Technicolor and Sony Form Joint Patent Licensing Program
Technicolor and Sony Corporation have
announced the creation of a joint patent licensing program for digital
television and computer display monitor technologies. Under the agreement,
Technicolor will be the exclusive licensing agent of a combined portfolio of
patents relating to both technologies. The license will allow new licensees to
obtain a single license as an alternative to negotiating separate licenses for
each patent. "This agreement builds on Technicolor's successful track
record of monetizing its portfolio of intellectual property and the strength of
its licensing teams," says Stéphane Rougeot, deputy CEO of Technicolor.
Sony Senior Vice President Toshimoto Mitomo adds, "This joint licensing
program is another example of managing our patent portfolio and making it more
broadly available in an efficient manner."
