TAG-Knowledge Forum Hosts Facebook's Politics & Government Specialist

AMMAN----March 10, 2013-----Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum in cooperation with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society will be hosting a seminar on the intersection of Facebook and 21st-century governance by Ms. Elizabeth Linder, Facebook's Politics & Government Specialist for the Europe, Middle East & Africa region.

Ms. Linder who is marking her visit to Jordan works closely with her constituents to better understand Facebook's technology, identify how Facebook fits in to the global demand for more transparency and openness in the public sector, and examine societal trends that profoundly influence the ways in which the public interacts with its leaders.

Ms. Linder has built Facebook's EMEA Politics & Government Program from the ground up, working with more than twenty-seven countries at the head-of-state, national, and local levels since January 2011. Her constituents have included heads-of-state, ambassadors and embassy representatives, members of parliament, royal households, think tanks specializing in global governance, city mayors, national police forces, and e-governance units.

California native, Ms. Linder joined Facebook from the company's headquarters in 2008. Prior to Facebook, she specialized in US politics and education at YouTube as part of Google's Global Communications & Public Affairs team. A French and Italian major who wrote her thesis on the nineteenth-century metropolis, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University. She currently resides in London.
